Katya Solovyeva, Ph.D
RESEARCH DIRECTORDr. Katya Solovyeva is a social scientist specializing in language and memory with 10 years of experience conducting experimental, survey, qualitative, and mixed-methods research in academic and industry settings.
Her analytic practice is informed by social and cognitive roots of behavior and examines such factors as event appraisal, categorization and salience of options, metaphors and mental models of illness, algorithmic and heuristic reasoning, and institutional context of decision making. She has worked on US and global projects involving both pharmaceuticals and biotechnology across therapeutic areas (endocrinology, solid tumors, cardiology, rheumatology, and immunology). Prior to joining ThinkGen, Katya was a senior linguistic analyst at Verilogue (a Publicis Groupe company) and designed naturalistic observation studies of clinical visits between providers and patients.
Katya holds a doctorate in applied linguistics from the University of Maryland, College Park, an M.A. in German from the University of Northern Iowa, and a B.A. in language and culture studies from the Herzen University of Russia.
